Released at the front end of 1999's Lilith Fair, Mirrorball is a take-home sampler of the live performances that catapulted Sarah McLachlan into the modern ock stratosphere. Over half of the album's 14 songs are radio hits (including four of the first five), proving McLachlan's worth as a pop songstress bar none, but also hinting at an underlying stagnation in her recent musical output. Though fans of McLachlan and folks who missed her Lilith performances will likely enjoy Mirrorball, it's a little too by-the-book to win any converts or please critical listeners. There is little dialogue between songs, for example, and the sound quality is so pristine that if it weren't for the occasional hoot and holler from the audience, one would never know it's a live album.
I am sitting here, finishing up moving all of my beloved music over to an external hard drive(music is the ONLY thing i can be practical about) and I heard the Ice Cream man drive by for what is probably one of the last times in my life.Ah, the suburban Midwest. Kids drop what ever it is there doing and run to their folks for some loose change to by some ice cream shaped like whatever pre-teen ...
As a teen, my Father taught me what "The National Anthem" meant to him ... and I've never made it through the song without crying since (yes, at baseball games, etc.). As my Mothers dementia progressed, Sara McLachlan's "I Will Remember You" became my weak spot; then while she was dying, Copelands' "Take Care" kept me in Kleenex.Welcome to my 'cry' songs ... do you have one?
Here is a HQ version of Sarah McLachlan's song Possession as remixed by Rabbit In The Moon! This mix although from 1996 still sounds up to date and current now 12 years later!Possession (Rabbit In The Moon Mix) Always rate with stars and comments !
