All Music GuideA budget compilation issued on Pye's Golden Guinea subsidiary in January 1967, this album gathers together some of Sandie Shaw's then recent singles and key album tracks from 1964 to 1967. The album failed to chart in the U.K. and Shaw's career appeared to be on the wane, to be revived a few months later by the smash hit "Puppet on a String." Like many mid-'60s compilations, Sandie Sings was a good retrospective for the time, but she was to bag further hits until the end of the decade, so as a definitive collection this album is redundant. Never re-released on CD, its scope of 12 tracks is rather limited -- all of which can be found on Castle's excellent 64/67 Complete package.
