I bought my first Roxy Music album while I was still in high school. It's not such a big thing for some but I did grow up in West Texas. The internet wasn't something widespread enough for most of us to have access to and it was still a very isolated place in 1996. I would go to the library and search through the periodical sections for bands that I liked and read old interviews in magazine anthologies dating back to the early '80s. This is from what may have been the first album I ever bought. Seeing them perform Ladytron back in the early seventies was probably a defining moment for me. But more than 30 years on, this fragment from If There is Something still blows me away.
