I've been insanely busy recently with the San Francisco International Film Festival (only 2 days left... a lot of great movies "You , The Living," "My Winnepeg," and "Orz Boyz" are my favorites), but I thought I'd drop in with a poster I finished for last weekend's Rogue Wave show at The Fillmore. Pitchfork informed me that Evan Farrell, of Rogue Wave and Magnolia Electric Co., passed away 2 days before Christmas. "Bloomington, Indiana musician Evan Farrell died on December 23 in an apartment fire in Oakland, California, according to various reports. Farrell served as bassist for Rogue Wave until early last year and toured with Magnolia Electric Co. this past fall, playing bass and pedal steel. Number 8. Rogue Wave "Asleep at Heaven's Gate" (Brushfire Records)

It's been a while! Not for a lack of caring...just a severe lack of time. Hope everyone has been well! So, I've really been digging the new Rogue Wave album. I've always been a fan, and I think this is a really solid album. They just have a really nice sound. Although, I kind-of wish it was summer time, this seems like it would be a nice summery album. I just want to roll the windows down and hit the highway, singing at the top of my lungs, and stopping to snap pictures ... MORE

last night i had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite bands play. the day started at school, with the concert being the only thing on my mind. after just getting by a test on musical measures and bars, and completely bombing a bio quiz; i headed home to get ready (skipping a math exam). i picked up my friend camilla, and we arrived at the venue at doors open... or so they said. there was nobody in line except a nice little couple about my age. they had been waiting fo... my car broke down the other day. lame... but while its in the shop, im borrowing my aunts suv. although its nicer than my jeep, the cd player is broken. apparently SOMEONE tried stuffing a cd into one of the slots of the 6-disc changer with a cd already in it. so now i have to resort to listening to the radio. which is tedious since i just bought the new rogue wave album. Another great new soon to be released album! The new Rogue Wave is killer...titled 'Asleep At Heaven's Gate' i believe it comes out on Sept 18... Check out 'Phonytown'...a tune I can only guess is inspired by Los Angeles...a great song!
