Byrds-ian Roger McGuinn & Tom Petty

(34)
Blog post image preview In 1990, McGuinn and Petty collaborated on this song, from Roger's "Back From Rio" album, co-writing the song and with Petty playing and singing on the track. For the uninitiated, The Byrds were obviously a big influence on Petty and the sound he created. Early in his career he covered "I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better" from the first Byrds LP. I absolutely LOVE this track and ArcticRose, who has never heard it, posted about Tom Petty yesterday, so - enjoy!

It was like nothing I'd ever heard And The Eagles flew in from the west coast Like The Byrds they were trying to be free While in Texas the talk turned to Outlaws Like Willie and Waylon and me. Hey! Wel... MORE
