    Looks like we're averaging a post per month... In case anyone was wondering, Robbie Fulks is still awesome. He played an acoustic show here Sat, with Robbie Gjersoe singing and playing harmony. The usual stuff, but two things stood out: 1. He played 3 new songs, all of which were straight forward country songs in the style of the more serious stuff on Georgia Hard. Good stuff that wouldn't be necessarily out of place on a Music Row release. Seemed like his set... MORE

    Interesting article on the rise and fall of alt-country in the Boston Phoenix today. I'm not sure I agree with it but it's nice to see anyone still even talking about it. I worry that by the time finish grad school and have the time and energy to devote to my band, noone will be into doing alt-country (or whatever the hell folks call it) any more. Seems like all the folks who were doing it a while ago have moved on to other things. Whiskeytown and Wilco come to mind. ... MORE
