When you're RJD2, every day is like Christmas. And by every day, I mean once a week between now and January 19. The formerly Def Jux-signed beatsmith will be giving away a free item each Monday until the release of his fourth LP, The Colossus, on RJ's Electrical Connections. First item up for grabs was (you missed it!) a vinyl test-pressing of his 2003 EP The Horror, of which only five were eve...
I haven't really been that into what I've heard of the new RJD2 album but this video is crazy good. I'm sure someone has posted this already but I wanted to give it more props. This guys moves are sick.

In the time it takes RJ to assemble and bake his recipe for an apple-raspberry cobbler a la mode, Jordan gets a tour through RJ's home studio, an...

i sit in front of this computer all day, and practically use mog as a messenger, i say practically because it's usually minimized and i just refresh the mogosphere, there are a few consistently good moggers out there who really make my work day FLY BY, but i can't help but to wonder what other people do for a living, i mean, we must all be unemployed or work in an office enviroment right? anyw...
I had the privilege of going to this year's Download Festival, which turned out to be quite a let down despite the fantastic ending that made it worth the wait. I've never been into bands like Gang of Four or Jesus and Mary Chain, but thankfully once I had sat through all of these headliners practically the whole crowd left the Shoreline establishing me with a prime standing position for RJD2....
There are times when there are good songs on albums that you're not so fond of. Today's Saturday track is one such song.I have to admit that I'm not exactly the biggest fan of RJD2's album The Third Hand. However, one track I like from that album is "Work It Out." I like the way the song builds and I actually like RJD2's vocals here.
If I could, I would've posted "Nightmare On My Street" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince but I only have that as a 45. I would've posted it because when I was little, Freddy Krueger scared the hell out of me.Since I don't have that track, here's something else Halloween-worthy...after the fact, of course.
I started collecting instrumental music a few years ago. Sometimes music that doesn't have a lead guitar player or singer or whatever is perfect for work or play.Sometimes music with vocals is to much of an investment. So I started collecting instrumental versions of recent hip hop albums and I got ton of great stuff. RJD2 "Magnificent City Instrumentals" was one of my favorites from 2006.
Hello! Believe it or not, RJD2 is an extremely down to earth, nerdy guy... perhaps because he was once a mathematics major in college. His music, like his old major, is calculated and precise. It's fun to watch him spin his 4 - 6 technics turntables. Check him out. Thank you.
Wow. So, RJD2 keeps getting better. With this album, The Third Hand, he really drifted away from his normal sample driven music. Aside from that, HE SUNG TOO! Damn I love his voice. Some people didn't, but I definitely thought it was quite nice (Kind of Kenna-esque). Moving right along now. . . I first saw this album was coming out while I was grounded and reading REMIX. They went into his stud...
So. I just downloaded a bunch of RJD2 seeing that I needed more of him in my library and he is one of my favorite DJ's. I came across an album called "The Silver Album" and I downloaded it without really thinking about the title. So, I decided to listen to it after listening to "Since the last time we spoke" and I hear the vocal sample that was used in the intro to the Black Album. I didnt reco...
