The second annual Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival is back with a VENGEANCE this summer! Last year we had a blast getting down to Purple Crush, Lismore, Treasure Fingers, The Glass, etc. This year will be no different! The 2 headliners for the fest, which will be held at The Amercian Can Factory on August 8, have just been announced, and with heavy hitters Juan MacLean and RJD2 powering the li...
I had the privilege of going to this year's Download Festival, which turned out to be quite a let down despite the fantastic ending that made it worth the wait. I've never been into bands like Gang of Four or Jesus and Mary Chain, but thankfully once I had sat through all of these headliners practically the whole crowd left the Shoreline establishing me with a prime standing position for RJD2....
Wow. So, RJD2 keeps getting better. With this album, The Third Hand, he really drifted away from his normal sample driven music. Aside from that, HE SUNG TOO! Damn I love his voice. Some people didn't, but I definitely thought it was quite nice (Kind of Kenna-esque). Moving right along now. . . I first saw this album was coming out while I was grounded and reading REMIX. They went into his stud...
So. I just downloaded a bunch of RJD2 seeing that I needed more of him in my library and he is one of my favorite DJ's. I came across an album called "The Silver Album" and I downloaded it without really thinking about the title. So, I decided to listen to it after listening to "Since the last time we spoke" and I hear the vocal sample that was used in the intro to the Black Album. I didnt reco...
So after the first installment of Stu Reid Sampler, a musically-inclined reader - who we'll refer to as Nomo - suggested I take a look at Marion Black's "Who Knows". How right he was.The object of Stu Reid Sampler, for those of you who missed it, is to take a popular song that features a sample of some sort, and line it up side-by-side with the original sample, uncovering the often brilliant ...

There are times when there are good songs on albums that you're not so fond of. Today's Saturday track is one such song.I have to admit that I'm not exactly the biggest fan of RJD2's album The Third Hand. However, one track I like from that album is "Work It Out." I like the way the song builds and I actually like RJD2's vocals here.
