Rivers Cuomo has announced the release of an album of demos entitled Alone - The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo. The album will feature home demos that Cuomo has recorded from 1992-2007. The album was originally meant to be released along with a book, Cuomo wrote. However, he later decided it would be best to release the album and book separately. Alright Weezer fans, get your bookmarks ready. Speaking with Gigwise last week frontman Rivers Cuomo admitted that he is getting carried away with his memoirs and lovin' it. just added this little gem to my soundtrack (you know, for the movie that wes anderson is gonna direct). mmm lemonade. river's solo 'alone..." is pretty fun. a handful of solid tracks in all. im having a blast reading through the little booklet. commentary floods the insides more than lyrics, which is super duper sweet. its neat to hear about the songs and recording process directly from the man... rivers.

The tracklist for Rivers Cuomo solo demo record has been revealed. Among the tracks making it to Alone - The Home Records of Rivers Cuomo are early versions of Weezer's breakthrough hit "Buddy Holly" and demos from 1995's aborted space-themed rock opera, Songs from the Black Hole. Today is the day! Karl Koch posted this on Weezer's myspace in the wee hours of this morning: Hey folks, today is the day - out NOW on Geffen Records is "Alone: The Home Recordings Of Rivers Cuomo". Its an 18 track collection of Rivers's demos from 1992-2007, including some short "not-really song" clips that are cool too. I'm not a big _"Weezer"_ fan but I heard this back on Idolator a couple of months ago and got the download. It's pretty good, check it out if you don't already know it. Rivers, a guitar and a piano.

A Weezer release since the green album that I was excited about and wasn't dissapointed when I got it. Techincally it's not a "weezer" release, but who's into politics anyways. Stand outs for me Longtime Sunshine (feels like thats how I feel about my band and my music right now, really hit home) Wanda (such a beautiful song, too bad they didn't use it for Angus, but I can also see the studios perspective and You Gave Your Love to me Softly worked for the film too) ...
