The moments of unexpected comedy, simple though they may be, are always highlights of shows, especially when they come from a usually stoic front-man. Rival School's Walter Schreifels declared midway through the band's set. "This is a song from our firs.
In an extremely vague blog posted on the bands Myspace account (HERE), the group announce their return into the studio after eight long years. The blog simply states "Faders are flying as recording begins!!" which earns a few brownie points for being slightly cryptic but still understandable.
Hi ya'll!I help keep the hamsters running on this site. Krist has allowed me this favor of stepping in for a minute to bring you this one-time offer.I live in florida and purchased tickets to the two Rival Schools shows in early november. But since then, I broke my foot saving children from a burning building. So no trip to new york for me.With great pain, I must offer my tickets up for sale...
Yancy says…"They kicked it into another gear for the Thursday night show at Merc compared to the show at knitting factory. They even ended it with a Cro Mags song. Another highly recommended band, Rival Schools. There is a definite lack of good rock albums or rock bands that aren't pretty these days. This one fits the bill IMO. It's a few years old, but still a nice break from the pretty bands of today. I swear we're hitting a new wall like we did in the late 80s/early 90s when everyone dabbed on makeup, did their hair and sounded the same.
