This Rickie Lee Jones song is five minutes and five seconds of trippy, hypnotic poetry; perfect for a thunderstormy, ominous Sunday afternoon. Or Monday, I guess, since it is Monday now, and I'm enjoying it just as much. I've heard that Rickie Lee Jones is one of those artists people either love or hate, and rarely feel indifferent towards. Well, I'm still on my Rickie Lee Jones kick. The Sermon on Exposition Boulevard simply won't let me be. (I forced myself to take a break last night to listen to The Nields' "Ash Wednesday" and a few other mellow songs. But I'm right back to it today.) Tonight, Jones is playing in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have been listening to one album almost exclusively for the last week. I keep hoping a review will gel in my mind for me to post. I'm not sure it has gelled.
