All Music GuideRadios, Vol. 2 is the second edition in an ongoing series of experiments from the Glasgow duo whose prolific output -- especially Richard Youngs -- challenged Merzbow in terms of numbers during the '90s (it seemed Youngs' solo work and related projects were cropping up on underground labels practically weekly from 1994 to 1998). While all of his recordings exhibit inventive and intriguing lo-fi music, they often -- as in the case of the album in question -- stray off into indulgent meandering that leaves less of an impact than his highly affecting avant-garde folk albums Sapphie, Festival, and New Angloid Sound.
