it has been a while since i've dug into old sleeves but this morning's drive was oh so special... r.e.m.'s murmur just piloted me all the way through the misty ocean beach twin peaks corona heights down through market street across duboce to the bridge and across to oakland and up up to work happy friday to all.

Is it the end of Shaking Through or the beginning of We Walk? I went from Mexico City to Long Island for my freshman year of college in 1983. My parents still lived in DF and I left my turntable there for that first year and only had a cassette player. I bought REM's Murmur on cassette. For the longest time, I was troubled by this question. The CD eventually solved the mystery of that interlude.
