Blog post image preview I was just reading about Priestess on Anti-Amy's post, and found a whole bunch of other people had caught the bug. Priestess was the first band I found as a result of MOG (rockordeath), and I am very thankful for it. What's the top band you discovered as a result of MOG, and who do you have to thank for it? **also, a good way for me and of course all you other moggers to pick up recs.

I can't stop listening to this album (The MOG meter doesn't count the CD plays in the car or they'd easily lead my TOP ARTIST and TOP ALBUM widget doodad things). Apparently these guys are still under the radar. Must be because Wolfmother is getting all the hype. In the realm of old-school-type rock these guys do it better IMHO. Hopefully a "rising tide will raise all boats" effect will occur and introduce these guys to a larger audience.

DJ Max Power just turned me on to a new “old” metal band called Priestess. I am really enjoying their “Night Owl 3” EP and I can’t wait to get their full length CD, “Hello Master,” which just dropped on June 13. These guys are brazenly walking the line between old-school hard rock and early metal. They have the classic hard rock drum, bass, organ and guitar sounds, and powerful, tasty vocals with just the right amount of scream/gravel. While they don’t feel completel... MORE

Blog post image preview This is how Priestess began their show Saturday night at The Independent in San Francisco. And then they proceeded to just rock. I have been listening a lot to their new album, Hello Master, and their Night Owl 3 EP before that. I really dig their music and I was pumped for their live show, but I wasn't sure if they would pull off the tunes live. Well, I can now say that their live show was more than just a good rock band performing well and playing their tunes. This... MORE

Blog post image preview A long time ago, rock or death(http://mog.com/rock_or_death) suggested this band to me because of my love for Wolfmother. Well, yesterday, I finally got my act together and coughed up the cash for the Priestess album. You already know what I'm going to say next. The album is great. I love it. It has elements to it that I haven't heard it a long time and which blend together to form the sound that is pure rock. I could go on and elaborate, but that won't help. You know I ... MORE

I'd read posts from people here raving about this band, but couldn't find it on iTunes or eMusic. Well, iTunes has it now. There's also an 3 song ep (only a $1.98) called Night Owl 3. woo hoo! good stuff. They have a classic heavy sound. Vaguely remeniscent of AC/DC, little bit of a Bad Company feel. Really heavy drumming.

All I can say is thanks to MOG for turning me on to some fresh music. I haven't been this psyched to get in my car to work in the morning and pump up some new tunes in a very long time. Priestess and Wolfmother are great additions to my collection. Found this link on youtube if you want to check out a track from Priestess
