Prefuse 73 - Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian (2009)This album came with only a CD and a cover. No booklet, no acknowledgements and no liner notes to accompany Scott Herren's sixth full-length LP. The Atlanta-based hip-hop producer forgoes the big-named cameos that littered his previous works, choosing instead to immerse us in the 29-track Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian with no p...

Loved by Pitchfork, he was recently described by them as ‘basicially a...

Prefuse 73 feat. The Books - "Pagina Dos"With the typical workweek frenzy, weekends are the best time for me to just sit back and take in some tuneage. So that's how I spend my Saturday mornings: rifling through my ever-expanding iTunes library looking for something laid-back that I haven't listened to in a while.Today I spent part of this Saturday morning ritual with Prefuse 73's 2005 Reads t...
CAN'T. GET. ENOUGH. PREFUSE 73.Don't know what triggered this lately. Co-worker turned me on to this guy a while back, and while I liked the stuff when I first played it, it's simply lit a fire under my ass this week. Definitely for fans of DJ Shadow, or better yet, most of the 'beat laden' liner music that Adult Swim used to use.
ARTIST Prefuse 73 Feat. School of Seven Bells TRACK The Class Of 73 Bells ALBUM Preparations LABEL Warp Records NOTES This video is about a year old but still amazing and worth the watch. The track is beautiful as well.
Not really a song about winter only because of the inclusion of the word in the title. Maybe Prefuse 73 put a contact mic on the ground and sampled the sound of snowflakes as the struck the ground. Then he put it all in a sound wave blender and created some new monstrous beast of winter time sound. But I doubt it. He probably got this stuff from hip hop.
