All Music GuideWhereas The Essential Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton collects 20 of the pair's Top 40 C&W hits, Two of a Kind includes only nine. The rest of the songs on this 20-track CD are lesser hits and album tracks that do not overlap with the Essential disc. Consequently, fans of Porter and Parton's feudin' and fightin' duets may find it worthwhile to add this disc to their collection for the 11 exclusive tracks. Of these songs, "Fight & Scratch" is alone worth the price of the disc. As an anthology for the curious, Two of a Kind is too idiosyncratic to be definitive, but the obscurities make it worthwhile.
