Now as many of you know, I usually take a hard line with Emo. Something about embracing the very traits that got the shit kicked out of me from 3rd through 11th grade strikes me as, well, asking for it. Teenagers used to just be Emo, not, you know, BE Emo. When I was a teenager it sucked for everyone, I'm sure that hasn't changed either, and there were depressed jocks, geeks, cheerleaders, band nerds, burnouts, etc. You didn't have to wear eyeliner and listen to My Chemica... well, first post, here goes: recently i've been listening to a lot more mellow stuff, and i happened to stumble across the band Pompeii (the group is from texas, i believe). amazing, uplifting songs. some older death cab influence, but still with a lot of original ideas. hmmmm.... what else. well, i've also been listening to brand new's new album, as well as some sufjan stevens and the decemberists. arrrgggh... writer's block. hopefully i improve at this whole posting thin...
