International rock band (it's hard to call them Brits, given that the only genuine Brit in the band was sacked two years ago) Placebo have created a very special page in relation to their brand new single (for Norway and the UK at least) 'The Never-Ending Why'. (The rest of the world will be able to buy the single release of 'Ashtray Heart'; I personally prefer the latter song.)The original vid...

The next video and second single to come from Placebo and their newest record 'Battle For The Sun' (SG Review HERE) is for track eight, titled The Never-Ending Why. The song itself is typical Placebo affair; nasal Molko vocals, heavy guitars and an epic chorus but it's the video that stands out further than the actual musicality.

Placebo's Battle For the Sun is the group's sixth full-length record and their first for the Vagrant label. This is also the band's first with new drummer Steve Forrest and certainly feels like a bit of a rebirth for the group.

Fans can stop holding their breath now: Battle for the Sun is unmistakably a Placebo album.

Let’s cut to the chase here – this Placebo record is definitely one that sounds like Placebo. It is all very familiar and its dynamics and structures and nasal delivery of Brian Molko’s vocals. However, the band themselves sound like they’ve given themselves a kick up the backside. After the average-sounding Meds three years ago [...]

A catastrophic scenario is going on, planet collapse; a waterfall of sound, weep of high pitches and tensed wires screeching. A grudge that is not going to stop, not even in front of the apocalypse. Right before the point of no return, a promise: I'll be coming after you! Hollywood-style treath for a revenge apparently relying on technology in a future where everything has changed, transformed ...

Oh Placebo, why must you continue down this road of banality? Battle For The Sun is Placebo's sixth album to date andunfortunately, it's not looking bright, despite what its title might fool you into believing. Everything is typically Placebo and herein lies the fundamental problem: that's all it is, typical Placebo with an added layer of cheese for good measure.

Excuse the fan in me, but this band has never disappointed me in over 10 years now. Never. In over 10 years. It's crazy if you think about it. It's no wonder they have my eternal dedication and love. It has nothing to do with changing directions and all that jazz. They don't need to because they are still painfully good at being what they are. And it may not be your cup of coffee, but there's n...

...there's gonna be an accident. From www.Placeboworld.co.uk:Placebo are back in the studio working on a new album! The band finished their last touring campaign in September of last year in the USA (on the Projekt Revolution tour with Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance). Since then the band have taken some much needed time out and over the past couple of months have been hard at work writing a...

Some time ago, I got a MOG-mail from "Jessawesome":http://mog.com/Jess_Horrible telling me to get very excited..I did, because I can be easy like that. Turns out that she was contacted by Placebo's management, looking for a way to get them on MOG. Lovely Jess thought of me (if you are asking yourselves "why?", you must have missed the gigantic neon memo) and suggested an interview. It was a har...

From *"Placeboworld:":http://www.placeboworld.co.uk/news/index.html*Placebo have parted company with drummer of 11 years, Steve Hewitt, due to personal and musical differences.Brian Molko commented "Being in a band is very much like being in a marriage, and in couples - in this case a triple - people can grow apart over the years. To say that you don't love your partner anymore is inaccurate, cons

Marc Moulin, who passed away in 2008, was the top jazz musician in Belgium for 3 decades. Known best for his recent solo work and his association with Sparks and Telex, he never shied away from modernity, working with electronics from his early days as a leader and keyboard player for Placebo. The album, Ball of Eyes was released in '71, and has since become a sought after collectors item. An ...
