This was a mini 3" cd that came out in 1993. It was a 3" cd single snap pack that were very popular in Japan in the late 80's/early 90's. This song was released on the album Overdose in 1994 in Japan and on The Sound Of Music in 1995 in the US. It has really great club mix of the song and an instrumental of the original. Not much else to say about it. I like the song. I really love the pa...

"The Audrey Hepburn Complex" was the first 12" record released by Pizzicato Five. It came out in 1985 back when they were a quintet. The members featured Konishi Yasuharu, Keitarō Takanami, Ryō Kamomiya, Mamiko Sasaki, and Shigeo Miyata. They went through a few vocalists before settling on the Nomiya Maki that we know and love today. You can pick up a collection of the the old '85 and '86 r.

I figured I should post this album after my Disney post this morning. Readymade Digs Disney is pretty much a Pizzicato Five album of covers of Disney songs. They're everything you would expect from Konishi Yasuharu. It's wild, crazy, and happy beyond all repair. The Japanese really love Disney. Their treatment to the "Mickey Mouse Club March" is as insanely happy as a song can get. It mak...

I'm not sure if many people got Pizzicato Five's last album _Çà et là du Japon_. I really enjoyed it. The packaging is fantastic. It comes in an oversized box that folds out. There's a color booklet with lyrics and tons of way cool pictures. There's a bonus post card, sticker, and some other paper thing (it's sealed so I can't tell). Aside from the packaging being visually glorious this i

Yes it's yet another Pizzicato Five post. I'm in a funk and not the cool kind. I think I'm about a month and a half behind on posts I want to post. I have more time to post lately but I'm not feeling it. I think I might have a post block or something like that. Pizzicato Five makes me happy so I'm posting songs by them. I love how they bring on a full art package. In more ways than one. ...

Funky Friday by Pizzicato Five (or 5 if your partial)

I've been listening to a ton of new Japanese music lately that I want to post about. I've been going through some tough times lately. My wife's mother (whom I love!) met with hospice lately. My wife is working with a mayoral candidate that I hope wins. My job sucks but I feel very fortunate to have this job because I process tons of people losing their jobs every day and more so lately. I ...
