They've got a new record due sometime in 2010 on their new label Temporary Residence (which you can read about HERE) and so what better way to build hype than announce a rather large tour? Kicking off on October 17th, the duo will play a total of twenty-five dates in around the US before finishing on November 15th.
That’s right, Pinback are hitting the road in support of a forthcoming debut on their new label, Temporary Residence, not due until Spring 2010…and I guess they’ll play some classics too. Rob Crow is just a super busy guy for the rest of the year, scratching his Pinback and playing with Goblin Cock. Good stuff, [...]
San Diego dwelling duo Pinback have decided to swap labels for their next record which is apparently due next year. The band were signed to Touch And Go Records since their third album Summer In Abbadon back in 2004 and released their fourth record Autumn Of The Seraphs on the same label back in 2007.
From Pitchfork: San Diego scene staple, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Terrin Durfey has passed away after a decade-long bout with cancer, according to a post on the Electrical Audio message board verified by Touch and Go. Durfey spent time in the 90s as the bassist for San Diego indie rockers Boilermaker, and in recent years had played with the likes of the Jade Shader and Pinback. Durfey...

It's been a while since I've heard nice hooks like this. They remind me a bit of XTC. (I wonder if there's an Andy Partridge influence here...) If you appreciate good songcraft, this is a definitely a band to follow. If the ideas here are good now, then it's worth keeping an ear pressed to their future work.
This seductively brilliant rock band from San Diego has been making genre-defying, innovative music since the late 90s. Their new CD “Autumn of the Seraphs” is the most musically satisfying and complete album I’ve heard all year, by far. While all the members are clearly masters of their instruments, I must single out the drummers (two fellas played on the CD) because a snare drum has never
I love when I time things just right and upon walking in the door of a venue to see a concert I am greeted with the band taking the stage within minutes of my arrival. This was the case when I went to see San Diego’s Pinback and Glasgow, Scotland’s Frightened Rabbit. Just as my friend and I were getting our first beer and trying to figure out where we were going to set up camp for the show, F
This is pretty cool for me. (and for you) Both of the releases I bought today came with a bonus disc. How can you go wrong with that? Here is one of the three additional songs that were released on Pinback's Autumn of the Seraphs bonus disc. Enjoy!
Pinback “Autumn Seraphs” By Roxy S. 4 out of 10 Lets face it. These days, time is scant. In between dealing with days that end in “Y” or that don’t start with “S,” we hardly find the time to kick back, put up our feet, pop open a cold can of soda, and read a review. Now that you have, however, I might as well make it worth your time and that can of soda by cutting to the chase
here i was, surfing mog idly whilst basking in the new Autumn of the Seraphs, when i noticed it: nothing. barely anything that suggests mog love to the Pinback extended family.really? sweet jesus. holy christ almighty. mother of god. this must be rectified pronto.i do not doubt mog digs Pinback et. al. (the first mogger i have ever met is a fan of theirs) and it's just no one's talking. for all...
When I first signed on to MOG, all of 11 weeks ago, I spent a little while getting used to being a mute. As I soon found out it would take awhile for other MOGgers to come around to my brand of BullShit that at times seems to roll endlessly off of my finger tips. I know there were a couple of posts I made in my beginnings in which I just babbled on in a sort of stream of consciousness style ran...

Recent events have led me to believe that one of the failings of any blog site, including MOG, is that there's no clear way to know why someone hasn't responded to a message. So, since I clearly have time on my hands, I came up with one for me. It's kinda similar to the Active/Away/DoNotDisturb I use on IM.It goes as follows:!http://mog.com/pictures/3776/pictures/thumbs/10432.gif?1155093578!I...
