Pigeon John is one cool fella. This track here just kinda takes you back to that old school vibe that causes instant nostalgia with the hip hop heads that grew up in the late 80's & early 90's.

So a friend of mine and I, hip hop lovers among other things, are constantly suffering from requests to change our tunes for the happiness of others (in the car, the room whatever)... So yeah, maybe white Ivy League girls weren't the "target demographic" for some of the beats I love, but, hey, that doesn't mean that we can't appreciate good flow. Strangely, I've been obsessed with the KCRW "Morning Becomes Eclectic" podcast of Pigeon John- I swear I've listened to it a dozen times on the morning or afternoon commute. Not sure why. He's good, the band is tight and his rap, while light, is quick and clever. Anyway. For those that don't know, the Reverend Horton Heat has a Christmas album. It's perfect.
