A dedicated Phyllis Hyman fan at last.fm has been "banging the gong" on behalf of this Jazz/R&B vocalist. So, for those who only have access to uploaded MP3s, here's a Phyllis Hyman cover that made the 1977 Billboard R&B charts.

A duet with Michael Henderson, this track asks if the break up is permanent. A top ten hit on the 1981 Billboard R&B charts.

(Why do I see visions of Louis Armstrong dressed in a tiger skin costume?) A roaring success for Phyllis Hyman, who made the 1983 Billboard R&B charts with this warning for those who would dare to ride the tigress.

Under the Covers Sunday: Raindrops are falling...

It's 2315 locally, so this is a Sunday under The Covers-to-be. In spite of atmospheric sound effects, this 1978 cover of "Here's That Rainy Day" is a triumph for Phyllis Hyman. On second thought, I'll write what was on my mind; "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." Paul Newman has gone to argue with Edwin Booth over interpreting Shakespeare at the Celestial Playhouse. B.J. Thomas' song isn't in the MP3 or CD collection, but I've found something better than posting a lacry... MORE
