Regardless of what any one else says, 2 Days In Paris (http://www.2daysinparisthefilm.com/)is the culture-clash story that might bring surprise of surprises. I think, this is a nice little film about difficult task to lead a cross-national relationship and about fact that thinking you know your parent is not the same as knowing her or his culture.
Anyway this movie is not for all. Some might feel offensive regarding to worst aspects of US and European artistic classes. T... MORE

North.
It doesn't sound like it'd come from an indie/pop band but Phoenix has made a wonderful instrumental song off their last album titled, "It's Never Been Like That."
The song puts you in a great relaxed mood compared to the rest of the upbeat and catchy songs off the album. Take a listen and enjoy!... MORE

I resign today. My colleagues set up a farewell party. I'm so grateful. They are so cool. I remembered since i graduated i had changed jobs a lot (2-3 companies in one month). Mostly because i could not get along with somethings that i felt uncomfortable. Bossy, Mouthy, Bitchy. Sort of. After let myself live like a Gipzy for such a long long time. I finally got a job and thought here is where i could settle down. I had that kinda feeling because i worked in this com... MORE

This remix comes as a bonus track on the US version of United. As some of you may know, Zoot Woman is actually another moniker of Stuart Price, aka Thin White Duke, who has done countless of remixes for others like The Killers, Madonna, Fischerspooner etc.
Here you can hear some classic traits of a Price remix. I just love the way he overhaul & change the rhythm of this Phoenix song. Simply infectious...... MORE

I'm about to move to Cambodia which is located in South East Asia, on the sount-western part of the Indocina Peninsula. It is bordered by Thaialand on the west and north-west, by Lao on the north, by Vietnam on the east and south-east.
That is short information for anyone who 've no idea where Cambodia is. I just got job at there but Cambodia is quite new for me even if it is Thailand's neighbour. Someone who had been there told me it looks like Thailand 20 years ago...O... MORE

I've just got home from one of the best gigs I have seen - Phoenix, at a little venue called The Factory in Sydney. The place only holds about 500 people, and it was packed for one of France's finest exports - and I include red wine in that equation.
Man, they were just so good. They opened up with Napoleon Says and got the place jumping straight off. They played a lot off their latest album, It's Never Been Like This, which is a fine record, and some choice oldies, too.... MORE

Lastly, a bit of tasty fluff from Phoenix, who overcame being French (ha ha) to create one of the best albums of last year. They're a far cry from Edith Piaf.

And people say that France is only good at surrendering....i say nonsense...They make some pretty good music too...first Air...now Phoenix...Any other French bands that I may like? Help me out Euro-Moggers

If you find the chance to check out Phoenix, please please do...they play Vancouver and Seattle this week and then head to Europe, but they will most certainly continue to blow up, I'm just sure. Just saw a show here at SF at Slim's...the place was wall to wall packed and the show ROCKED . I don't have the brainpower to tell you why or how or what they sounded like, but basically take their live albums and multiply that by 5. The drummer was sick. He stood up during a lot of... MORE

So, I was a lucky gal with a pass to the private French Kicks/Phoenix show last night at Bowery Ballroom. It was a Camel event put on by BFG . Boy do I love my friends at BFG ! I unfortunately missed the 'kicks', but I've seen them before and they're great. Not to mention that a friend of mine used to be their bassist - I happen to know he is a kick ass bass player, which only says good things about the 'kicks'. (check them out here: http://www.frenchkicks.com/)
