The mess that is Phil Spector will go on trial AGAIN for the murder of Lana Clarkson. For those of you with a short memory the jury in the five-month trial was left with a hung jury (10-2 in favor of the guilty verdict) after a 12 day deliberation. Following the first go most of Spector's defense team quit procrastinating the start of the retrial. After a jury failed to reach a verdict following 12 days of deliberation, the murder case against legendary music producer Phil Spector was declared a mistrial. Ahhh, to be a murderer...and famous. Phil Spector might be getting off the hook easier than expected for the murder of Lana Clarkson. Jurors have spent the last week in deliberations and are at a 7-5 impasse or standstill. This means they are in disagreement about facts in the case and having some problems of convicting Spector of second degree murder. The murder trial of pioneering 'wall of sound' rock producer Phil Spector was temporarily halted today after his lead defense attorney apparently became ill. The judge put the proceeding on pause and excused the jurors for the day. Out of a pool of hundreds, nine men and three women were sworn as jurors for the murder trail of legendary producer, Phil Spector. The prosecution claims that Spector murdered Lana Clarkson Feb. 3, 2003, and that the actress did not in fact kill herself as per Spector's deposition.
