Alex and Darren of Phantom Planet and Ryan of Panic at the Disco out in the car park after their gig in Denver this year.
Love it
got to see PP for the second time last night at webster hall. they were great live, per usual :) i got some good shots of them since i was pretty close. they officially announced that they are headlining a tour (finally after almost 15 years) in february. i'll leave you with this audio of them performing live for the daytrotter sessions. even though i think alex was sick this day. here's a few pics from the show too.
The official music video for Phantom Planet's new single "Do the Panic."
It's painfully catchy.
Pretty cool vidoe concept too :)
YAY! My email notifications are working again! YAY! (that one is for YGL and her crank yankers hehe) In celebration, here are the newest Phantom Planet lyrics. Nothing short of genius in my opinion. Ship Lost at Sea Hey!Arms of the ocean reach out for you!Rusty pipesCan’t help calling for you too!The brine is finer than wine,But be careful not to drink too much,Cause there are remains on the bottom of that cup.If you fear you’ve had enoughOf that salty stuff,I’m ... a little preview of phantom planet's long awaited new album. the band has finally confirmed that the cd will officially be released on april 15th after numerous postponements due to the band's switch from a major label with epic to an indie label with fueled by ramen. here's alex recording guitar for what i think might be my favorite song: Geronimo. and here is the recording of another new favorite: Leader. for a full version of Leader check out th... Just got the new album from Phantom Planet! So for the next few days I will be in solitude, listening and relistening, and just feeling it out. I don't want to say too much before I give it several good run-throughs. But so far it's catchy tunes and catchy lyrics. What a great combination. So far the highlights are Leader, Dropped, Geronimo, and Ship Lost At Sea. Expect a review in the near future. And i didn't forget about getting you some songs Tyler :)... MORE
raise the dead by phantom planet comes out on april 15th (5 daysa after my birthday!) alllllll kinds of excited :)
Since Christmas is in (holy crap) five days, I have decided to make a list of the top 10 christmas songs that I enjoy. Don't see your favorite on here? Let me know. By the way, the one thing that I have asked for this Christmas is a book called "Touching From a Distance", a biography of the former singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis. What I would like to know is, has anyone read it? If so, is it any good? I have read good things about it online, but I was just wonderi... MORE
Sometimes - like yesterday where I spent near three hours driving my father around including rush hour on 101 and El Camino, or last Wednesday when I spent something like two hours on 101 trying to get to the Warfield for a concert and then having to drive home from Berkeley at one in the morning, which was a horrible experiment in Red Bull and screaming along to Gym Class Heroes songs in an effort to keep myself awake - I really wish "California" by Phantom Planet was our... this year was all over the map for me. i spent at least a month and a half listening to strictly rock trios. i rediscovered the jimi hendrix experience and cream, finally listened to jeff beck (beck, bogert and appice) and robin trower and even dusting off my stevie ray records. there was a good stretch where, thanks to jason and laura at bullmoose, i was exposed to groups like tomorrow, thomas and richard frost, the nazz and the yardbirds (who i have been meaning to liste... gah, i just wrote this and deleted it. anyway, who's pumped about the new phantom planet album due out this summer? i am! i've had the great pleasure of seeing these boys live and over the years (the 8 or so years i've been listening to them) they've become one of my favorite bands. but the reason i write is because PP just started releasing footage of some of their songs from the new album on their youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Phantom36 . so far,...
