Peter Murphy
has a single concert scheduled in Portugal: November 30th at Vila Nova de Gaia’s Municipal Pavilion. Didn’t buy the ticket yet and I must hurry - 10 euros for such thing is almost like giving them away for free. Nothing like a news like this one to cheer me up...
In 2001, my personal god, Peter Murphy, released a live set for his loyal fans (that's moi) called aLive just for Love on his new label, Metropolis, that showcased his hits (minor to the mainstream, major to me, as in life-giving songs I literally cannot live without. Take away my Peter Murphy and you might as well just stab me in the heart and leave me for dead. And I mean that. But I digress.)The most surprising cut on it, for me, was his cover of one of Elvis Presley's ... MORE
Well it's my MOG-niversary. I've been here exactly one year as of today. It's been a great ride. I've made real friends, lost real friends, and bought a hell of a lot of music thanks to my personal EMCD village here at the MOG. I love and treasure you all. Here's one of my favorite desert-island artists, and personal deity, Peter Murphy, expressing things better than I can. I'll be a piece of you then,So that I'll see you in them.I'll howl at the moon, with a song to swo... MORE

I am currently dying my hair black and it is making me remember all the wonderful things about being a goth...like Peter Murphy's solo work. It was nearly a decade ago that this was my favourite song to listen to on repeat while I cried and hated by parents and wrote poetey about how I was picked on at school and cut holes into my fish net stockings. I am glad I got over all of the things above, though sometimes I like to listen to this song on repeat when I want to be... MORE
his voice is so incredible. and this song, i'm not sure i will ever grow tired of it.
"there is no middle ground
or that's how it seems
for us to walk or to take
instead we tumble down
either side left or right
to love or to hate."
this is one of those songs that i think i'll always be a little swoony over, a little heart-fluttery, a little in love with.
lucy.
Holding it down for those ready to wobble.
Here's a video by the guy whose voice gets me in the mood. Sadly, my wife doesn't like him at all. Such is life.
Here's one from my #1 current musical obsession. Unfortunately, they're not much to look at; this is a band that would benefit from putting the rhythm section upfront, b/c that's where the action is. Great song, tho.
