--- - |- MTV's Subterranean blog posted an amazing performance of Pavement's "Cut Your Hair" from 1994, when they appeared on "120 Minutes". They were so much younger then, to offer an obscure R.E.M. reference that surely Stephen Malkmus would appreciate. A special new band indeed. MTV proper has two more songs from the same set, "Unfair" and "Stop Breathin'", but you'll have to sit through mi...

Brighten the Corners is a personal favourite by Pavement , and pretty much the reason we can't all agree this is a landmark in US alt. rock is the strength of Pavement's whole career. With all the bonus tracks here, it's like getting yourself a free Wowee Zowee .
well, hey looky here, the fine folks at matador/domino have announced a reissue/re-fancy packaging of pavement's brighten the corners. been wondering when this would be coming to fruition. i guess the time is now. it sounds as if they will be doing some "buy it early" type shenanigans to entice it to actually purchasing it. Psychologists have it all wrong. Myers-Briggs? For chumps. Rorschach tests? Child's play. No, there really is one much simpler, more defining way to tell exactly what makes people tick. First, ask them if they are Pavement fans. If they say no, you can pretty much write them off immediately. I mean, for purposes [...]
Today Billboard sources confirmed Coachella 2010 is set to take place April 16-18 in Indio, CA. Early predictions for headlining acts have already been topics of discussion in the forums on the official Coachella website, the Coachella 2010 Facebook page and among the blogosphere. With Coachella's good fortune of reunited acts performing at past years' festivals, one band is on the tip of everyo...
Pavement news has been pretty much everywhere since they announced their reformation and subsequent tour plans early last month. Whilst America get them for three days in New York's Central Park and we get them as the curators and headliners of next years ATP Festival, it's now been confirmed that Australia and New Zealand will get a rather tasty slice of Pavement pie too, and before every
After a decade apart, indie rockers Pavement may be reuniting in 2009. Word of a reunion rung out after EntertainmentWeekly.com posted info on each members response to the possibility. Frontman Stephen Malkamus told the magazine he was into the idea of “something small in 10 years like the Zeppelin thing.” Malkamus is referring to the decades in the making return of Led Zeppelin in late 2007 a
I read in a couple of blogs(meaning its TOTAL speculation) that Pavement is close to reuniting for an album and tour...probably for next summer...but even this glimmer of hope makes me so happy...it was also hinted about in the 'Coachella' section of Rolling Stone's Summer Festival Guide...i would explode with happiness if this happens...Madonna and Kanye were both added WAY late last year, so ...
I always thought of Stephen Malkmus as more of a poet who played rock music, than a rock star. He has such an amazing way with words...and I don't pretend to know what he is talking about all of the time, but i am always smiling while listening to Pavement, so he is doing something magical. Some of my favorite lines from his poetry:"Cherish your memorized weaknessFashioned from a manifesto -- la...

Pavement reunion in 2010? A lot of people seem to think so, including Brooklyn Vegan:According to reliable sources, it’s finally happening in 2010! There will be multiple, possibly four, nights of shows at NYC’s Central Park Summerstage in September of that year. That could be part of a tour. That could be the end of [...]
