All Music GuideThe Raiders' third straight Top 40 hit single (at least on some charts), "Country Wine," in early 1972, led to the release of what turned out to be the group's final new Columbia Records LP. It also contained the follow-up chart single, the more heavy metal-like "Powder Blue Mercedes Queen." (You've heard Mountain's "Mississippi Queen?" Here it is again.) The rest veered between hard rock and lush pop, but never rose above the mediocre.
