Blog post image preview LadyC just (like, 5 minutes ago) turned me onto Patrick Wolf's album "Lycanthropy", which I am currently devouring. Unfortunately his label's website only provides partial song downloads, so I haven't even heard an entire track all the way through yet - but nonetheless, I'm completely sold. The tracks are dark and booming and sloppily-constructed in a way that allows them to sound adventurously organic... and the vocals are beautiful, full of harmony, wild and delicate. ... MORE

I have a feeling my opinion on this album will be in the minority, but nonetheless I call 'em how I hear 'em. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure about what I'm hearing yet. But I want to write my initial findings here as notes that I can perhaps refer to later... so in that sense I'm happy just to talk to myself about this one. The first time I listened to _Lycanthropy_ all the way through, I couldn't quite put my finger on my unease, but the adjective _deliberate_ kept... MORE
