In our continuing effort to keep tabs on the coming and goings of past Blips artists, we’re pleased to see Boston electro-rockers Passion Pit - who are currently in the midst of lengthy world tour - will be graduating from the club circuit with their first scheduled dates for 2010. When the band returns stateside, they will play their highest profile headlining show to date at NYC’s cavernous
A new single is on the way from Passion Pit, taken from their 2009 debut 'Manners'. Due on November 16th through Columbia Records, Little Secrets is the track of choice and why the hell not? It's probably one of the catchiest things they've ever written.
Last year at this time Passion Pit were playing a month of residence shows at Pianos followed by a headlining spot at Mercury Lounge. My how things have changed for this band. After a whirlwind year, which included releasing their debut full length Manners and signing to Columbia Records, the band have ascended the ranks and built up a massive following in such a short time. Last night they pla...
Passion Pit's first full length Manners picks up where their debut EP Chunk of Change left off. Backdropped by beautiful melodies, great harmonies, chiming guitars and danceable drums.
With the intention of creating a Valentines Day gift for his then-girlfriend Christine, Cambridge-based musician Michael Angelakos formed a one-time/one-man project he called Passion Pit. The resulting EP, Chunk of Change, quickly found its way onto the iPods of his friends at Emerson College, who then passed it on to their friends and acquaintances. In late 2007, Michael (vocals, keyboard) tea...
Passion Pit have had a ton of remixes since they first started to surface last year – whether they’re official or not isn’t important because the big melting pot has resulted in some top versions and is easily credited toward them being as popular as they are today.Miike Snow laid down their thunderous remix to [...]

A couple months back, Scott and Amrit ventured out to catch Passion Pit at Pianos. Since then, the Boston Frenchkiss signees have continued popping up here/there. The consensus (at least around here, like in my kitchen) is that their best song is "Sleepyhead." It's also the lead track from their re-released Chunk Of Change EP, so makes sense that it'd be the track with a video. We're told the f...

It's been a slow week, so I feel fairly comfortable saying this recording of some little Ugandan kids covering Bjork 's "All is Full of Love " is the best thing you'll hear all day. Listen at Bitone's myspace . The song is part of an album to benefit the Bitone Children's Home , and the whole record was recorded with a laptop and one microphone in the center's living room. Awesome. All of t...
