All Music GuideTrombonist Papa Bue Jensen has long led one of the top Scandinavian trad jazz bands. This LP is a bit unusual in that some of the tunes the sextet performs are swing standards (such as "In the Mood," "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Stardust"), and they also jam such unlikely material as Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "Brahms' Lullaby." In general, the set (which also has Sidney Bechet's "Coffee Grinder" and a few New Orleans tunes among its highlights) is successful, as Papa Bue and his band (which includes trumpeter Ole Stolle and clarinetist John Defferary) show that they can swing practically anything.
