Oxford Collapse, a Brooklyn based band, are back with their second record for Sub Pop entitled 'Bits'. I could not be more happy. I was stuck on 2006's 'Remember The Night Parties' for months when I got my hands on it that year. Here's to hoping this new album is just as good. I just got in, haven't even listened to it yet...but thought I'd share a track before calling it a night. Here is a new one, and then my favorite off of that last record - ' Please Visit Your Nat... I do an internet radio show every Thursday night from 7-9 p.m. Eastern on patradio.org. It's called mixtape = love. I decided to cross-post my playlists to my MOG. I also upload an archive of my show to my website and you can stream it here. Or if you are one of those podcast folks, knock yourself out --> . And here's the list. As promised, here's "Lady Lawyers" from Remember the Night Parties. Thanks to Lacey Swain of Sub Pop records for permission to repost this here. Trot on over to sub pop if you'd like to download the track for your very own. Free.
Has anyone around these parts heard the earlier Oxford Collapse records? I love "Please Visit Your National Parks," the song from their new record Remember the Night Parties coming out on Sub-Pop Oct 10. Yet I just went to e-music to check out clips from earlier records in order to see if I wanted to download one of the other albums, and I was underwhelmed. It sounded dangerously close to a lot of the other Brooklyn/Williamsburg bands who apparently just discovered Gang... MORE
Nice straight indie rock. gotta love "please visit your national parks." that song really blows it up. The rest of the record is better than their earlier material, but still not grabbing me.
Thank you, Pitchfork!
Just discovered these guys. I know I'm only 4 to 5 years behind, but I'm still stoked.
