Lions are known for their ferocious roar. So it only makes sense that Rage Against the Machine frontman Zach de la Rocha and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore are calling their new band One Day As A Lion.

when rage against the machine first entered my skull, i listened non-stop for at least a year. seeing them in those early days, when i lived in sweden, before they broke in the u.s., were some of most memorable live performances i've seen. it's SO SO GOOD to hear zach in full fierce mode on this new solo ep with mars volta drummer jon theodore. the shit is as angst filled balls-to-wall rock & roll as you can get. listening now for first time and i feel like breaking so... Who doesn't love lions? I do. You do. We all do. Especially when one of those lions is named Zach De La Rocha. I have liked most of ZDLA's side projects and was absolutely overjoyed upon finding out that he was at the mic again. Sure, Rage might have started the rap rock movement, but they weren't that band that pushed it over the edge (Limp Bizkit), and it's easy to just how talented that band was. Zach De La Rocha and Jon Theodore (former drummer if The Mars Volta) recently signed a deal with Anti Records for the new side project One Day As A Lion. The duo will release their self-titled debut album July 22 (track listing below).

"World International" is the first taste you'll get of the Zach De La Rocha (Rage Against The Machine) and Jon Theodore (Mars Volta) sideproject One Day As A Lion.
