All Music GuideThese two dynamite Franco-Turkish collaborations have percussionist Okay Temiz in common. The instrumental Temiz/Kasap collaboration involves the Turkish fiddler and percussionist with a couple of non-Turkish hornmen and a French guitarist. Turkish music being strongly reed-oriented, the Turkic-jazz riffing and soloing works extremely well over Temiz's powerful and complex rhythms -- though it's at its most stunning when fiddler Nedim Nalbantoglu is soloing.
