Has it really been more than 5 years since Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds toured America? Well then this upcoming tour in late-summer is long overdue! That's right, Nick and Co. announced a string of live dates in the US with 2 stops in Canada starting in mid-September. It's being reported that Cat Power and Spiritualized will be along for the ride too, as Nick and the Bad Seeds support their newest release, Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! 3The new Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds album, Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! is playing here at the office. It's so good that it makes it hard to concentrate on anything else. I'd been wondering what the next Bad Seeds would sound like after last year's Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds subset band, Grinderman, put out a raw and purile self-titled album about not getting enough sex, and this is not what I expected. It was only two days ago when we complained Nick Cave had ditched the US of A for a spring European tour. And today we hear the bad ass and his band of Bad Seeds will grace the stage as the main performer for the 2008 Plug Awards, which, in case you didn't know were held in the US of A coastal town of New York City.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds will be sampling his new biblically-inspired album Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! in Europe this spring. Cave & Co jump start the tour on April 21st in Lisbon, Portugal. Expect a Cave tour in the US sometime after Europe. Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!, after all, does come out first in the UK on March 3rd (Mute) and then in the US on April 8th (Anti-).

In which Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds perform a weird séance of sorts: I'm just as confused as you are. The one good thing to note is that Nick is keeping his creepy old man 'stache. Nick Cave will be making a special appearance on Shaun Keaveny’s BBC 6Music breakfast show at 9am(GMT) on Boxing Day(December 26th).
This will be one of the first opportunities to listen to music from Cave's new album Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (Mute).
The upcoming release - slated to drop March 3, 2008 - will be the group's fourteenth studio album. Cave has stated that this album will 'sound like Grinderman', implying a garage rock sound.

“Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!” is one of those curious records that initially appear immediate, but which only become genuinely compelling after multiple listens. It’s bony, dispassionate, far from the confessional intensity of, say, “The Boatman’s Call”, and, in spite of the title, with less religious brow-furrowing than usual. Two things stand out. Nick Cave's 14th studio album will be released March 3rd and called Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!. The single, which bares the same name as the album's title, will be released before. Cave produced the album along with the Bad Seeds and Nick Launay at State Of The Ark studios in Richmond, west London this past summer.
The album takes inspiration from the biblical story of Lazarus, who Jesus resurrected from the dead.
