Nelly Furtado has just released another new video "Do It" from her chart topping album titled "Loose". The video was produced by Nelly Furtado and Aaron A. Ms. Furtado has definitely surpassed her "Like a Bird" stage and has burst back into the music scene even hotter than before with the single "Promiscuous" released back in 2006. Here she is again with another racy single and she's still breaking out some hott new beats.
This song is bound to be remixed and "burnin... MORE

This Week three pop star, Nelly Furtado, Christina Aguilera and Lily Allen have made announcements that suggest there urge to settle down. Noticing a shiny diamond on Nelly Furtado's ring finger, gossip blog PerezHilton.com broke the news of the Canadian singer’s engagement to her Cuban boyfriend Demacio Castellon. Castellon, a sound engineer for uber-producer Timbaland met Furtado while working on her most recent album Loose last year at Miami’s Sound Factory. A date ... MORE

Those crazy Canadians are slaphappy with music videos this week, with two brand spanking new clips from both Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne. Nelly Furtado, currently touring the US with hot new artist Kenna, releases the video for "In God's Hands," the fifth single of Loose. The album, Furtado's third studio effort, has sold more than three million copies worldwide. Avril Lavigne, who scored the award for People's Choice: Favorite Canadian Artist at this p... MORE

And sometimes, sometimes, you just want to write a La La La song -- with absolutely nothing to do with mathematics, fine art, dna, haikus or brain entrainment (see previous posts at left,) just... sex. For the track Make Me Shake from the Various Chimeras CD by Shinjuku Zulu, I wanted to write a song using only La La's in the chorus, Do Re Mi's in the verses, and as few as other words as possible. (But it still had to make lyrical sense.) As in "'Do re' me, on the floor... MORE

With five major wins, Nelly Furtado swept Canada's Juno Awards over the weekend. A total of 39 Juno trophies were handed out over two nights, Saturday (March 31) and Sunday (April 1) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Furtado, host of the two-hour CTV televised event on Sunday, won the five categories in which she was nominated: artist, album and pop album (both for her third Mosley Music Group/Geffen album, "Loose"), top single for "Promiscuous" and the Fan Choice Award. ... I'm not spanish though I did learn a little but, not enough to understand what is being said in the song No Hay Igual, yet it's one of my favorite songs on the album. Go figure.

I've known about this issue for a while, and I figured it might be provocative to post on MOG ; seems like a MOG sorta post, and I haven't seen it on here yet (forgive me if I missed it). And it's an oh-so-rare opportunity for me to embed some Youtube action. It seems somewhat plain as day that a chiptune composition called "Acid Jazzed Evening," written for an Amiga MOD (and winner of a competition for songs in said format), was used by Timbaland without permission... The relationship between Science and Religion have been a recent obsession and theme of my 07 so far.
I recently read Angels & Demons by Dan 'Davinci Code' Brown and along with being a really rivetting read, it's renewed my interest in pursuing answers/unknown questions to the heavier things in life.
It manages to incorporate a slew of interesting (to me) subjects/topics (science and religion, secret/suspect history) and provides/provokes philosophical discussion on su... MORE

There have been lots of albums that have come out this year. Some were good, some were great and some were so bad they their creators should be banned from making music ever again. I have listened to several of them and will give you my take on a few. These are not indepth albums reivews but rather my opinions of the albums. I should also state that I am a fan of Rock and Roll but I do listen to most other types of music and I can appreciate music even if I don't particularly... MORE

If I may be romantic for a moment, this is, put simply, my future wedding song.
"Childhood Dreams" - by Nelly Furtado
I can't believe you need me
I never thought would be needed for anything
I can't believe my shoulder would carry such important weight
As your head and your tears
I can't believe you chose me, in all my fragility, me
It hurts so much when I love you, it makes me cry
Every time You, you are, oh you are
The little boy made for me in the st... MORE

This is a MOG sneak attack of stream of consciousness music engagement. Toumani Diabate's Symmetric Orchestra (Boulevard de l'Independance) has one of the finest, fullest sounds of any modern African music. The drum sound (particularly on the first song) is unparalleled in the field. Any Afrobeat heads must not miss this. Hector Zazou, Bony Bikaye and CY1 created an amazing album called Noir et Blanc in 1983. On the back of the reissue (on Crammed Records as par... MORE
