First of all, for our non-Chosen readers: groyse metsie is Yiddish for a bargain. Don’t say I never taught ya nuthin’.So. For the month of October (or “Rocktober,” as some clever marketing types are dubbing it), Earache is offering a whole bunch of truly righteous albums from their catalog for download on iTunes at a [...]
Ian Christe posted the below photo on his Bazillion Points blog yesterday. It’s producer Russ Russell doing some mixing; Christe took it while visiting Napalm Death in the studio during the recording of their album The Code is Red… Long Live the Code in 2005.There isn’t that much to say about it. But it made [...]
Man, this festival is quickly becoming one of the best festivals on the East Coast along with New England Metalfest and Prog Power in Atlanta. It has just been announced that legendary grindmasters Napalm Death along with Venomous Concept and Misery Index are being added to an already hefty list of hellacious metal. Also, consider [...]

Young Justin Broadrick could not imagine that playing in a silly band called Napalm Death would change the face of metal. Hell, the guy was just a punk kid getting into hardcore and metal while discovering Throbbing Gristle. In fact, in a town like Birmingham, there was also some chance that our hero was only wondering at the time what he would do tomorrow. Influencing thousands of musicians wa...

The Deciblog made reference to "the new Napalm Death record that won't leave our iPod" yesterday, which means a) they've heard Time Waits for No Slave, the new ND album that will drop sometime next year and b) it's fucking awesome. Napalm, like some of their founding death/grind father peers (Cannibal Corpse, etc.) have been [...]
The ball in the pond with the garden gnomes gets me everytime. It's just so grindcore, NOT. And, of course, Shane Embury's uber-farty bass sound. It's so fuzzed out it would not matter what the hell notes he was playing, as there are so many 'overtones' they all sound the same.
