You Gotta Be Loose

Artist:
Album: Live - Cleveland 3-28-2001
Track: You Gotta Be Loose

Blog post image preview . Little nugget I ran across today. Recorded Live (how I'm not really sure and if I knew probably couldn't say anyway) in Cleveland at Euclid Tavern on 3-28-01. OK but not the greatest sound quality, but goodtime rockin' stuff.

NRBQ are one of America's Finest Rock and Roll bands of all time.Honestly how does it get much better than this?Sure go ahead say what you will but i'm stickin' with these boys! You really wish you could have at least eight eyes in your head at one of their shows it's so hard to stay put with how much talent is going on when these guys hit the stage.I've seen them live four or five times.(But not this version with Big Al Anderson...which one is he? Wha'd I Say

Artist:

I said Two from Q. I had a hard time deciding which cut to follow the previous post (featuring Tragic Magic) to give you all a taste of what a fabulous band NRBQ is, and decided on 'Get A Grip' as it typifies some of the most infectious elements of Q Music. This is another great song from Scraps. 'Get a Grip" is a solid rollicking groove, a somewhat Meters inspired ditty, I think, featuring toy piano arpeggios, a heap of rockin' country guitar licks, and some nice ga... MORE

Two from the Q

Most of my Music Collection is still residing on Vinyl which I need to digitize ... but to get things started, here is a taste of NRBQ ... probably one of my most 'consistently listened to' artists over the years and someone you should definitely discover and be listening to. NRBQ defies simplified genre categorizations ... which is no doubt what has led to scant public recognition or even knowledge of the band at all. From Rhapsody:"The band is fearlessly eclectic, mi... Blog post image preview I don't care if you're dead, You're gonna out of bed! . Wow, hardly any posts on the MOG about these guys that Rolling Stone once labeled the best bar band ever! Guess one of these days I'll have to try to do more of a bio of them, but for now enjoy this little ditty to start your day. All about being on the road and having been out too late the night before, maybe some of you can relate... . .

Halfway through the day, the stoners at work had a near-simultaneous revelation of what day it is. Yeah...halfway through the day...little slow there.

34 Years Too Late

Artist:
Album:
Well, Some sorta friends of mine, and by sorta I mean I knew these people years ago and they probably don't remember, but are in a band called Top Ten. They recorded and perform a great version of NRBQ's I Want You Bad. I didn't know it was an NRBQ song until I checked the liner notes on the Top Ten's 45. I always tried top like NRBQ but never really got it. Now I get it, or at least I get one record. "Scraps" by NRBQ recorded in 1972 is fugging amazing. Super-clean music... MORE
