My Bloody Valentine have extended their first UK tour since 1992 due to demand. The band, who have not released an album since 1991's 'Loveless', announced yesterday they will play three shows in summer 2008. The band will now play two extra London dates at the Roundhouse on June 21 and 22 after selling out the original June 20 show in just six minutes this morning (November 16). Given the crazy levels of musical fanaticism in the mog-o-verse, I wouldn't be surprised that this news has already been delivered and digested, but when news like this gets out, there's really no such thing as repeating it. Apparently, Kevin Shields has FINALLY confirmed that MBV is officially back together, and that the band is working on a new album. W00000000000000T!!!! Head frm Dublin, the iconic Jazzmaster lover, MY BLOODY VALENTINE wont bored u with same chord prog. and simple song structures.. their come with sounds that youve never heard before.. their dont fake ass with those fx pedals, their work with it! Only Shallow is one of the best track in the album "Loveless".. its dreamy, angry, lovely, evrything! Althought the band was no longer exist but their still sounded like a couple of minutes ago.. and rumors always cheer me up. Maybe.

Yeah, I know, another paean to MBV from me, how unexpected ... An unbelievably kind MOGger sent me a copy of the recently-released 33 1/3 book on Loveless, the brilliant album by My Bloody Valentine. Having heard a lot of good things about the series, having heard from the author himself, I dove in. The books in the series vary widely in style, from fiction (e.g. Joe Pernice's Meat Is Murder which is fantastic) to musical analysis to recounting the history of the given album's birth. Mike McGonigal's volume on MBV's Loveless has been for ages in the making. But now its imminent release has finally been announced. (Dale, rejoice with me.)

Just because I feel like tweaking Eric and Amy, just a bit, and because if I write for posterity my list for 2006, I'll have to shoot myself after looking at it next year, not to mention fifteen years down the road.
