i love murder by death. which is a dangerous thing for me, because i have an annoying tendency to play songs over, and over. and over. at some point, even i can't stand to listen to them anymore, so, i have to force myself to turn it off every now and again.
such is the case with murder by death. i've listened to every song on in bocca al lupo so many times (especially "one more notch," but with the exception of "the devil drives") that i'm starting to fear burn-out. so, ... MORE

Sorry about that month long hiatus of Murder By Death song, but I started searching for it, and before I knew it, it was mid August, and all along it was just in my "my music" folder. My bad.
Murder by Death. Seriously, they sound nothing like their name implies, and because of that reason it took me awhile to give them a listen. They are nowhere near Death Metal or anything of that genre, more for fans of folksy rock with a deeper darker feel that will give you goosebumps every time. They consist of four members, one guitar player, one bass player, one drummer, and one cellist, with the cello bringing in the unique sounds that make this band so great. Th... MORE
I know, I know. I thought the same thing: Murder By Death? Great. What kind of generic emo/screamo crap is this? What kind of torture will I subject these poor ears to now? I put the CD in. I didn’t want to. But I did. Sigh, here comes. One more for the used bin. But – you already know where this is going – the band is actually good, really good. No, not phenomenal. Not I-just-heard-Radiohead-for-the-first-time mind-blowing. But for existing under a stupid band name like... MORE
You love the band. You know all their lyrics to all their songs. You've seen them a million times. You own every album of theirs. Hell, you own them all on vinyl AND CD. So how important is it to you to have a shirt with their name on it? Or a hip track jacket with one of their lyrics cleverly woven into the design? Or better yet, how important is it for you to get their autograph on your concert ticket, t-shirt, or chest? Maybe their first demo tape, of which there are on... MORE
i like murder by death. i am not a huge fan, but i think they are one of the more brilliant and creative bands out there right now. this record however has, on certain days, simply floored me and this particular song is just simply wonderful. any indie rock band that is able to make nods at bygone musical eras without having to camp it up... :::couchdecemberwhatistscough::: are really one upping it for everyone else. now what might sound rather um, hypocritial coming from ... Well well well. Haha you all should listen to Murder by Death. Why? Because they're songs are about zombie children, shooting the devil, Dante's Inferno, and many other great things. And if you get a chance to see them live, take it. They're amazing. Not to mention I think the cello player is the hottest girl when she's playing. Last time I saw them and I watched her playing it struck me why guys who play guitar get girls. It works vice versa ladies. "I'll drink whiskey in... MORE
Ok this is a little silly, but I found it kind of interesting:
Search your iTunes (or whatever you use) for songs titled "Untitled" and see what you come up with (and Sigur Ros doesn't count). I got:
Untitled-Andrew Bird
Untitled-Hot Chip
Untitled-Interpol
Untitled-Murder By Death
Untitled-Neutral Milk Hotel
Some things are just too brilliant for a title, eh?
