London's 02 Wireless FestivalFor his 4th of July headlining performance, Morrissey promised: "I will take Hyde Park like a flea inhabits a dog. Art-hounds and people with badly cut hair are very welcome." He didn't dissappoint......In the center of the city, surrounded by the posh, well-trimmed terrains of Knightsbridge and Kensington, et al, the Wireless Festival is one of the more tame and "...
According to Pitchfork.com there's a new Morrissey B-sides collection called Swords due out in October. I'm hoping that Sweetie Pie will be on Swords. The original version was a b-side on I Just Want to See the Boy Happy that featured vocals by Kristeen Young. Apparently, Young and Moz had a falling out so he remixed Sweetie Pie sans her backing vocals. I was a fan of the experimental feel of t...
Some ninja. Sheesh!I have received my instrument of death from New York City itself. Yeah, you know it's hard. I'll give it a spin later, but I don't have a track listing yet.And I had completed my mix of death, but because I've been stupid busy, I didn't send it out. My intended victim lives; that just stinks on ice.As I ponder the eternities, I will only have myself to blame for my sloth. Sigh.

"We live in the mind, in ideas, in fragments. We no longer drink in the wild outer music of the streets- we remember only." -Henry MillerSo here goes folks. I posted a while back about what festivals are worth traveling to in Europe. As you Euros all gave amazing tips- and I got inspired. Morrissey, an avid vegetarian who's 2nd album with the Smiths was titled Meat Is Murder, took a stand at the Wireless festival in London last week. During his performance, he told the audience he could smell the meat across the stage. And this was after the singer tried to ban meat from the backstage area where he had hung posters of the Meat Is Murder album cover. But, the Rascals, living ...

New Morrissey single, I'm Throwing my Arms Around Paris from his forthcoming album Years of Refusal. Of course it sounds epic and full of Moz's grandeur-- would we expect anything less? Nobody seems to want his love, sound familair? I want something more, it's missing something and no not Johnny Marr but to me it sounds more of the same from Morrissey. What do you think?
I just found this rare Seasick Yet Still Docked (Charles Bukowski mix) at the Morrissey-Solo forums. Created by member Bike Tragedy using the live version from BBC Theater, clips from the film Barfly and ends with excerpt of Bukowski reading from his poem "The Genius of the Crowd." Brilliant!I love the sample "to all my friends" that bookends the mix.
This is a low fi recording and video of Moz's live version of I've Changed my Plea to Guilty on Jonathan Ross show circa 1990. It's just Morrissey and piano by Steve Nieve. I heart this version, I hope they release a better quality version. For now this is what we have. And yes, it feels like an overcast Morrissey kind of morning. So there may be one or two more Moz posts forthcoming.
