I heard Micah P. Hinson for the first time last week on one of the influential blogs...I honestly can't remember which one, but one of the ones tells you what to listen to if you wanna be hip. So of course I listened.
And...I loved it. I am a sucker for a gravely voice troubadour anyway...mix in Mr. Hinson's penchant for dark, emotive lyrics and I really never stood a chance.
This one is off of his soon to be released album.
Last Thursday provisions of the Internet Radio Equality Act (IREA) were introduced in the Judiciary Committee to lower webcaster royalty rates closer to those paid by satellite and cable radio. One of my first ever posts on Mog was about an artist I had discovered called Micah P Hinson.
When I got home from work yesterday the album I ordered had finally arrived...and I love it.
Think of a mix between Lampchop, Wilco and Tom Waits and you are somewhere there.
Anyway, this is so far my favourite track from the album called Jackeyed.
I'mm off now to watch the Karate Kid with a cup of tea and some nice biscuits....I am rock n roll.

A while back, on some sleepless night, while I passed the hours intent on finding some hidden gem of an album on the internet, I stumbled across the name "Micah P. Hinson".
