Forget throwing a festival. Neo-jazz pioneers Medeski, Martin and Wood are throwing their own summer camp. The three piece is inviting musicians of varying levels and ages (well 16+) for "five days of intensive workshops and seminars, deep listening, musical exploration, and improvisation" in the Catskill Mountains. In about 3 hours or so, I'll be sipping a beer in the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and jamming out to Medeski, Martin, and Wood. Getting ready to head to Richmond right now.

Today is a good day. I just landed a copy of this upcoming release from my all time favorite live act Medeski, Martin & Wood. Once again, as on guitar guru John Scofield's "A Go Go", we get to hear these four extremely talented musicians team up to lay down some amazing jazz funk.
