...I fell in Love with Mazzy Star's voice (Hope Sandoval) the first time I heard her sing, rather moodily, "Fade Into You" back in the early 90s... I was living in Atlanta at the time, so I shot over to Turtles and copped "*So Tonight That I Might See*":http://www.thestore24.com/Music/Album.aspx?p_id=P+++++4863&a_id=R+++190371&PersonID=P%20%20%20%20%204863&prodid=CAP98253.2- even the album's ti...

I have gone on the record that I love/hate hippies, and for a long time that extended to folksy alt rock. I am not really sure that Mazzy Star fits that mold, exactly but I have always had that kind of association. Probably because a lot of kids I knew were into the Doors, Phish and smokin' joints at that time. Maybe it has something to do with the vision I get of running through a field of pop...

Here is another song that I would have to work into the movie based on the screenplay that I will never finish...very cinematic sounding to me.

it's been a week, a long seemingly endless week filled with sleepless nights and travel. lonely hotel rooms in montana reeking of old smoke and cheap disinfectant. hurried meals of fast food and more cigarettes. It feels good to slow down to just breath and listen to music eyes half shut letting the music flow over me washing away the stress and hurry of my oh so hectic life. it's a good night ...

i've been stuck on cover songs lately. i think mazzy star's version of this song is magical and beautiful. bush's cover of it is pretty nice too, but there's something about hearing this rolling stone's song from the voice of a woman that sort of makes it into some new and original. it transcends.

Countrified dream pop duo, Mazzy Star was formed from the ashes of Opal in Santa Monica, CA in 1989. Following in the footsteps of the California Paisley Underground movement of the 1980s, the band was heavily influenced by the psychedelic stylings of The Doors and The Velvet Underground. Mazzy Star's debut album, She Hangs Brightly, was released by Rough Trade in 1990 and sounds like a holl

This song will always be one of my favorites. Her voice is like a glass of wine and a soft pillow.
