it's been a week, a long seemingly endless week filled with sleepless nights and travel. lonely hotel rooms in montana reeking of old smoke and cheap disinfectant. hurried meals of fast food and more cigarettes. ...I fell in Love with Mazzy Star's voice (Hope Sandoval) the first time I heard her sing, rather moodily, "Fade Into You" back in the early 90s... I was living in Atlanta at the time, so I shot over to Turtles and copped So Tonight That I Might See- even the album's title had a bit of a 'tude...I bought the LP for the first cut but held on to it for slices like "Bells Ring"..."Five String Serenade"..."Blue Light"..."Into Dust"...who am I fooling, this whole friggin' LP is... into dust the best song from during the best part of the movie foxfire. No not the sci fi movie the grunge era riot girrl movie. which incidentally I have for sale if any one wants it. It's kinda a rarity nowdays.

ok this is gonna be ironic considering my recent bashing of folk but I consider mazzy star to be grunge and therefor an exception. and I do think she's exceptional

I first listened Mazzy Star's Fade Into You in the series of Without a Trace.The song was just fitting the scene.I didn't know much about Mazzy Star that time truthly not at all.At time time,a song that I know would not make me feel that scene.It was cool.And than I bought their albums.The song Take Everything is also explaining deeper scenes for the composers(David Roback&Hope Sandoval) I guess.I wish I'd know the story of that song...
