I didn't get a chance to hear it but Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs brought their act Sid N Susie to KBig (I think?) this morning. I don't know if they do it or not but if I was thems I would do a lot of George and Gracie Burns type vaudevillian banter between songs in concert. Seems like Sweet has an adoring and loyal fanbase and girls and dudes alike dig Hoffs so the audience would be all. ...
They're back with another pleasant album of big hits by other people. It's as uneven as the first volume, but they do a nice version of this Todd Rundgren classic.

Here's another album whose release totally slipped under my radar a few weeks ago. It's the umpteenth release from Matthew Sweet, a man I affectionately refer to as the little indie rocker who could. Although he had his five seconds in the spotlight back in the early 90's and then again, but less so, a few years with his co-release of Under the Covers, Vol. 1 with Susanna Hoffs, Sweet really ha...
It's been a couple of years since Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs released their first collection of cover songs Under The Covers. Now we're on the brink of receiving the second edition from the wizard of hooks and the former Bangles' singer.Under The Covers Vol 2 is not going to surprise anyone. The pair hand picked some of the biggest easy rock hits of the '70s and tossed in a couple of
It's official. Matthew Sweet's love life is in shambles, and he's not sure whether he craves love or wants to push it away. And instead of shelling out the cash to consult a therapist about his self-destructive behavior, he decided to make a record detailing his desperate longing for a mystery woman and either her rebuffed attempts at requited love or his subsequent decision to minimize his fe...
We recently let you know about a few Matthew Sweet streams related to his new record, Sunshine Lies. The consensus? The commenters, most of them "longtime fans," weren't impressed with the sounds ("Blech, I love Matthew Sweet and was looking forward to this, but I've heard it and it sucks," "Speaking as a longtime Sweet fan, I hate to say it but these songs are dreadful," etc.), but it was note...

I don't think so. But I have my moments with Mr. Matthew Sweet. I haven't been much of a fan over the years but decided to pickup his "To Understand: The Early Recordings of Matthew Sweet" some years ago to see what his early songs sounded like(I think it was on clearance somewhere). I think I listened to it maybe twice(if that) & decided I didn't care much for the songs due to their sheer popp...
