I've got a playlist I call "Random '90s" and there are some songs on there I have yet to tap into. This will be the start of it. Material Issue were three guys from Chicago, three guys who loved _Big Star_. Their first album is a pop masterpiece (at least I think). Material Issue - One of my all time favorite songs! This video used to come on at around 2:30 am every single day on MTV when I was up nursing my youngest son who is now almost 17... I loved it!!

I posted this song on Dachmo's post on Material Issue but decided it was just too good to be buried in the comments. This is a live version of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer” that is just so superb it deserved to be finally featured on it’s own. Enjoy! This was off a promo only cd for their upcoming "International Pop Overthrow" cd in '91. I found it used for $1.50 back then! ISENIH is the abbreviation for I'm So Early '90s It Hurts and will henceforth be the preferred nomenclature for these particular posts. Material Issue, another seriously underrated alternative power pop rock group from the early '90s. When I first saw the video for the song "Diane" I was hooked.
