I had this queued for last Friday but apparently I got distracted. I really like Martin Sexton when he gets on his soulful funky groove, otherwise...
It would be cool to see him do the same split personality thing John Mayer does between his solo work under his own name and the blues rock thing he does with his trio.

Acapella music, while sometimes fully enveloped in cheesiness (see _Where In The World In Carmen San Diego_), when stripped down and done correctly can be an amazing vehicle for the reinterpretation of great songs, and the creation of some amazing music. I love this little man. He's not quote/unquote pretty, but the man's got pipes! This song has been a consistent favorite for years.

I have just heard parts of his new album, and I must say that I like what I am hearing. Also heads up... He is about to start touring to support it. If you go to his website he is also takeing volunters for selling swag. It involves free tickets and a potential meet and greet. I would suggest to anyone to go. He will probly have two shows the same night. This was the deal last time I saw him. I caught both in Ann Arbor, MI and each so was very different and totally... MORE

Well, I'm overstating that a little bit. But I was pretty surprised to see that noone had writen anything about Martin Sexton, so I thought I would fill the mog-void. For anyone who hasn't heard him, Martin is a soulful singer-songwriter with an exceptionally brilliant guitar style. He has a stripped, bare sound, inasmuch as he's never been overly produced.
