After taking forever to record their sophomore album Maroon 5 will finally release It Won't Be Soon Before Long on May 22nd. The album’s first single, the funky “Makes Me Wonder,” jumped from Number 64 to Number One (the largest jump to No. 1 in the history of the Billboard Hot 100) in the past week. Digital sales of single hit 243,500 downloads helping break Kelly Clarkson’s previous 52 t
Maroon 5’s It Won’t Be Soon Before Long took the Number One spot on the Billboard 200 this week, selling 429,000 copies. The sophomore release from the LA-based rock group pushed Linkin Park’s Minutes to Midnight to the Number Two position. Linkin Park only sold 198,000 copies of the album. We say only because that’s about 400,000 less than last week. But it was the biggest week for Ozzy O
Call And Response: The Remix Album is the 2008 album by Maroon 5. These NOW art-rockers (just my assumption based on their choice of indie acts) remixes hits from indie faves like Of Montreal and Deerhoof seems oddly conceivable. The group's brand of bubblegummy pop is the perfect candidate for a remix treatment, don't you think? It also features remixes of hit singles and tracks from Maroon 5'...
If Adam Levine showed up on my doorstep bleeding with a gunshot wound and a pitbull attached to his neck I'd make him write a new song before I called 911. Songs About Jane was released in June of 2002, according to wikipedia Maroon 5 became a band in February of 1994. It took them 8 years to write 12 tracks that have lasted them 4 years. They've released an acoustic album of those 12 songs. Th...
I'm sure this topic has been covered before since covers are a popular topic on Mog, but I had to write something about it. I have a song in my library that is so bizarre I could never tire of it. It's a live Maroon 5 track where they cover Closer by Nine Inch Nails. Hearing a band with mostly lovey-dovey songs singing the lyrics "I want to f**k you like an Animal, I want to feel you from th...
So, i just moved into my new place on sunday. It's a cute 2 bedroom appartment in Paterson, NJ - not the greatest place in the world, but not too bad and the proximity to school and reasonable distance from NYC are huge plusses in my book. I moved in with a good friend of mine and I already feel at home there (the most important thing about a living situation, i think). I am so happy to be o...
It's been five years since the global neo-soul rock group of Maroon 5 hit the musical market and now - they are back with their much-anticipated sophomore album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The follow-up to the 10x platinum, Grammy-winning Songs About Jane will be "sexier and stronger," according to frontman Adam Levine, who looked to '80s icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson, and Talking Hea...
I know, I know. Douche chill. But hey, we had to listen to that song "This Love" all year 2005 or whatever it was, and now it's your time to get back at them for getting that song plastered all over your ears. Download the stems of the song and make a remix, fun right? [...]
I've listened to the album, Songs About Jane, and I've been listening to their recent single, and all I want to know is what the hell happened? I mean the songs just seem trite and ehhh...God, I don't know, I just feel like ripping out my hair when I hear Adam Levine's voice. It's like ever since he's work with Kanye West I hate even seeing the guy's face on TV.
So here's my thing with the new Maroon 5 album: I like it, but I loved the first album, the continuity of that one was perfect. This one, while it's still very good in my book, lacks a little in that department. It seems like they tried to branch out a little bit on this one. However, in doing so they created some good songs, but they just don't fit as well together as the ones on their firs...

To be honest, I never really listened to/liked Tiesto. Maybe it was that some of his tracks were too trancy or technoish(?) for me. For whatever reason, I just wasn't feeling it, that was until I heard his amazin' remix of "Not Falling Apart" by Maroon 5. It totally changed my feeling about Tiesto and his work. I like pop music, there is no doubt about that, and for once, I heard a "club" track...
