I hadn't really noticed that this year is actually a leap year, it only happens every 4 years, so we need to commemorate, and what better way to do so than with beautiful, beautiful music, This artist I have been listening for quite a while now, and I swear, when I'm sick anxious, hyperventilating, and terrified that my heart might explode, with no pills to calm me down, all I need to do is listen to her, and her voice calls me down... She has a song called Leap Year, her ... MORE
In case you didn't know, Maria Taylor has a solo album titled 11:11. I haven't heard it in a while and the song Nature Song from the album just came on. It is so beautifully composed, but which of her projects isn't right? Anyway, this post is just a heads up, though a lot late ( :

Today, I've been listening to Maria Taylor's new album for review purposes. She sounds less bored. By the time she's 60, she might sound slightly enthusiastic.

I don;t mean to be so negative. I think I want to like her stuff.
I thought Maria Taylor's solo debut, "11:11," was one of the best things to happen to music in 2005. I liked Azure Ray, her previous band, but nothing they recorded quite arrested all linear thought the way her solo stuff did. Great songs, really intimate lyrics and vocal style. Plus she plays a lefty Gretsch hollowbody. You might have heard "Song Beneath the Song" on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack (will try not to hold it against her -- they picked some great tunes). S...
